Pioneering Wines of Excellence
Embark on a Journey and explore award winning wines from the Southern Flinders Ranges
Take a glance at Flinders Run Winery and you’ll see beautiful vineyards against a backdrop of picturesque mountain ranges.
But look more closely and you’ll see we’ve planted many different clones each a variation of a specific grape variety; with each one chosen for the specific qualities they bring to the wine making process. This means that while your eyes can savour the landscape of the Southern Flinders Ranges and the colours of our wines, your palette will unearth rich, new worlds of flavour and complexity.
Join us to learn more about the grape “clones” we’ve planted, the wines we’re producing, and the vision that compels us forward as we Flinders Run continue to explore and pioneer the new frontiers of wine from this obscure and emerging region in the mid north of South Australia.

Our Region
By world standards, we don’t have towering mountains in the Flinders Ranges but the ones we do have are dramatic, and beautiful, and they give us a spectacular glimpse into geological history. Our Southern Flinders Ranges region sits within a long series of “folded” mountain ranges which were pushed from the earth over the past 5 million years. Previously, there had been quite tall mountains (now eroded) pushed up from the Earth 350 million years ago, and before that the area had been an ancient sea, some 800 million years ago.
Our Wines
Flinders Run has pioneered the development of wine production in the Southern Flinders Ranges, winning international acclaim with its foundation range of Shiraz. As you taste your way through our premium portfolio of wines, you’ll discover why fruit from our vineyards is winning palettes worldwide; rich, red soil, underground water, outback sunshine, and cooling sea breezes from the nearby Spencer Gulf.

Our Story
Since Emanuel and Laura Skorpos helped establish the Southern Flinders Wine Region here in 1997, they’ve experienced the extremes of disaster and triumph. And if you’ve ever trekked through the regions red soils and rugged mountains, you’d expect nothing less from this place of natural contrasts. However, wha might surprise you, is the rich trove of wine and food flavours emerging from Flinders Run and other producers in this scenic region, which the Skorpos family invites you to explore, discover, and experience.
