The Crossing Borders Series marks an exciting new chapter for Flinders Run. In true Pioneering Spirit we venture out and beyond our estate vineyards of the Southern Flinders Ranges into neighbouring appellations of distinction. This series celebrates our desire to explore, discover, and craft wines that showcase the diversity and character of South Australia’s most celebrated regions. Flinders Run Crossing Borders 2024 Clare Valley Riesling
A Bold New Chapter Begins – At Flinders Run, our pioneering journey continues – one that began deeply rooted in the Southern Flinders Ranges and now expands across new frontiers. The 2024 Crossing Borders Clare Valley Riesling marks a defining moment in our winemaking story – a celebration of our pursuit of excellence and our passion for crafting wines that transcend boundaries.
Single Vineyard Origin – White Hut / Stanley Flat, Clare Valley – Sourced from a single vineyard site in the sub-appellation of White Hut/Stanley Flat, this Riesling captures the purity and precision that have made the Clare Valley one of Australia’s most respected Riesling regions.
Elevation ranges between 360 and 400 metres, with yellow clay over gravelly loam soils – a unique terroir that gifts this wine with lifted aromatics, fine minerality, and vibrant natural acidity, hallmarks of exceptional Clare Valley Riesling.
The Journey from Vineyard to Bottle
Every bottle of Crossing Borders Riesling begins with an unwavering commitment to vineyard precision and fruit integrity. Throughout the growing season, the vineyard was closely monitored for canopy balance, fruit exposure, and flavour development — ensuring optimal ripeness while preserving natural acidity and aromatic freshness.
At harvest, the fruit was picked during the cool of early morning to maintain purity and varietal character. In the winery, a combination of traditional and modern Riesling techniques was employed — including gentle pressing, cool fermentation in stainless steel, and extended lees contact to build texture and complexity while retaining the pristine citrus and floral notes that define Clare Valley Riesling.
The very small batch of premium estate grown fruit was kept separate, allowing our winemaking team to conduct detailed blending trials to craft the final composition, a wine that reflects both precision and artistry, with perfect balance between fruit intensity, minerality, and length.
After months of refinement, the final wine is now complete, the label designs finalised and printed, the wine is ready for bottling, we’re proud to announce that this very limited release of exceptional Riesling is ready for release.

Winemaker’s Notes
A pristine expression of modern Clare Valley Riesling. The nose bursts with white blossom, zesty lime, and crisp green apple. The palate is refreshingly vibrant, layered with citrus and subtle mineral texture, leading to a long, clean finish that reflects both region and craftsmanship.
