The Southern Flinders Rangers is a relatively new viticultural region, where Flinders Run has been making a splash with its powerful, opulent Shiraz. The 2007 is full bodied and lushly textured, its plum fruit gently wrapped in a layers of cedar and mocha. Drink it over the next 5-10 years.

The 2007 Shiraz received a similar 18 month elevage. It offers up a bouquet of wood smoke, lavender, Asian spices, and blueberry preserves. Full-bodied and mouth-filling, it conceals enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years and will offer a drinking window extending from 2011 to 2019.

Deep ruby with a bright rim. Sexy, potent aromas of black raspberry, cherry-vanilla, smoky minerals and incense. Pliant dark berry flavours stain the palate and betray no tannins. Gains power and sweetness with air and finishes with excellent clarity and oak-spiced persistence. This wine wears its lumber well.
